Product - System Product- Create

Hello everyone welcome to another video and this will be the first video in our product management series. It's going to cover the creation of system product.

Before we dive into the system product, let me first introduce the two different kinds of products that we use in our system. The first one is "store product" and the second one is "system product" the store product refers to all the products that the seller is selling on their platform store. Once the store is integrated into the system all of the store products will be downloaded and put into a module called "store product"

The "system product", on the other hand, is more like an internal part of the system so those are all the products that the system can work on. The system can process them and the system can keep track of their inventory quantity, their warehouse locations, expiration days and so on. So there has to be a connection between each store product and system product. So that when orders come into the system, the system can find the corresponding system product for each store product on the order. Then the system can further process the product in the order. To manage our system product, let's go to products -> products. Here we have our system product management page and in today's session we're only going to look at the two different modules at the top: the adding system product and the system product. There are two different ways to add system product. You can either add it manually or you can mass import the product by using our excel template. There are two different kinds of system products: "single item" and "multiple items". "Single items" are just individual system products. "Multiple items" are like combos. To add a single item, click add. All of the fields with red star are mandatory. First input the product code. This is the self-defined code but it has to match the product code on your platform. Remember we've talked about the connection between the store product and the system product so it is very important to to match your product code with the product code on your platform so that the connection can be successfully established. Product name is also self-defined, just give it name that you can recognize. You can also put a short version of your product name here.

Select a category for your product. Remember this category must match the category on your platform. You can also put in brand and supplier for your product but to do that you have to first create a brand and supplier. We will cover this in a different session. Once you have your brand and supplier created they will be shown in the drop down menu. You can select them.

Product marks are used in the tagging system. The existing marks are in the drop down menu. If you want to create a new one

just type and click add.

If you have multiple SKU information you can enter them here.

In the product property tab you can select whether this product has a unique code or if you are going to use batch. One example of unique code is serial number. When you are purchasing products like computers and cell phones they will have a unique identifier. If you are selling this kind of products you might want to activate unique code. For batch, those are for products with expiration dates, like medical products and makeup. For batch you have to enter shelf life and batch alert. Once you have completed all the required information just click confirm your system product will be created. For mass import, first download your template

and input all the information in the template.

Import the completed Excel file back into the system. If you hover on this "add system product" module you can see there is a gear icon. Click on the gear icon you can see an option called "auto add product". If you have this option enabled, whenever you are downloading your store products from your platform to our system the system is going to automatically create system products for you so you don't have to manually create them. This could be very useful. Usually we suggest that you enable this function but there could be some complications with this function as well. Because in some scenarios the seller might not want the system to automatically create system products for them. They might want to manually connect their store product to a specific existing system product. Inside the system product module you can manage all your system products. If you see this icon it means this product is a combo product. If you see this icon it means this product has multiple SKUs and you can click on the icon to expand to see SKU details.

You can also search your products by using the search bar and the filters.
